Hawaii Forest & Trail’s interpretive guides make your visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park a lasting memory. Hawaii volcano visitors can view past eruption sites, craters, and lava tubes while discovering how geologic events shape the Big Island of Hawaii.
On this in-depth park experience, your interpretive guide will illuminate the historical events that changed the landscape of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Hawaii volcano tours are an excellent way to experience the fantastic forces of creation and destruction.
Enjoy 2-3 miles of hiking around the park’s dynamic terrain. You’ll visit a large private lava tube known for its bright yellow and gold microbial mats living on the cave walls. This lava tube is only accessible to Hawaii Forest & Trail guests.
Stay after dark to see the eruption deep inside Halemaumau Crater; catch glimpses of lava and see the night’s sky light up with Pele’s orange and red glow.
