Weight Restrictions
- No weight surcharges for individual or combined passenger weights are imposed. Per FAA regulations, all passengers plus carry-on items will be weighed at check-in.
- Total weight per person is restricted to 275 pounds per person.
- Children 7 and over recommended with a weight of at least 30lbs.
- If the individual and/or group weight limit is exceeded at check in, the flight will not be accommodated and are subject to the full price.
Tour Restrictions
- Must be 7 years of age or older and must be at least 30lbs., 12 years old and older to fly with the doors off
- Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
- Doors off flight s are flown in Mauna Loa’s R44. Every seat is a window seat. You may choose to fly with the Doors-Off on.Children may sit next to an open door if they are 12 years or older. Children 7 – 11 need to sit next to a closed door.
- Pregnant women beyond 6 months require a doctor’s written approval prior to flight.
- For safety reasons, all passengers must be able to board and exit the aircraft independently. In the event of an accident or emergency, it is essential that every passenger can evacuate the helicopter without assistance. They are happy provide a step stool to make boarding and disembarking easier if the aircraft height presents a challenge.
Recommendations
- Bringing or wearing a light jacket, preferably something waterproof for the cool and potentially misty breeze, pants, and comfortable shoes.

- No refunds for cancellations within 24 hours of activity
- Tours may be canceled or changed up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight time without incurring a fee.
- Tours canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, or passengers who fail to show up or are 15 minutes late for check in, will be billed the full price for the tour.
- Tours rescheduled past the 24 hours will be subject to a $100 rescheduling fee.
- Cancellations from date of booking to 24 hours before activity or for larger groups 24 hours before activity are subject to a 10% service charge
- If for some reason we are unable to confirm your reservation with the activity operator due to oversold seats or other unforeseen reasons, a full refund will be provided, and you will be notified immediately to discuss alternative dates and activities
- Cancellations or delays to the flight at pilots discretion for safety reasons which may include inclement weather.
If a tour operator cancels any trip due to weather, mechanical failure, unsafe conditions, or insufficient reservations, a full refund will be provided.
