Kona Cowboy Sport Fishing

Welcome Aboard! They are located on the Big Island of Hawaii, the Blue Marlin Sport Fishing capital of the world. They have over 35 years of experience catching fish, and no one will work harder trying to catch your fish for you!  They also specialize in family fishing charters, ensuring even our youngest anglers leave the island saying, “Kona Cowboy Sport Fishing”, was the best part of our vacation!

They target the following species on fishing charters: Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Spearfish, Tuna (skipjack, big eye & yellowfin)

The Vessel: Bertram Sport Fisher 40′

You’ll be fishing with Captain Gaige Inscore and his crew from a Bertram (Flybridge) sportfisher originally built in 1977 and fully restored in 2019. Powered by two 350HP Cummings engines and maximum cruising speed of 25 knots, she’s got plenty of get-up-and-go! Not only will you be comfortable on their vessel, but she’s equipped with the latest in electronics gear and safety equipment.

Quality Fishing Gear

All of the fishing gear they use on the Kona Cowboy is IGFA (International Game Fishing Association) qualified, so if you catch the REALLY big one it will be official! Their reels are only the best made. They fish Shimano Tiagra reels, paired with quality rods and tackle.

Know Before You Go

  • On the day of your charter, you’ll meet them directly at the boat: Honokohau Harbor 74-0425 Kealakehe Pkwy Kailua-Kona, HI 96740  Slip J8.
  • Typically, morning charters leave the dock at 6:30am and 10:30am. And afternoon charters leave at 12:30am and 2:30pm.
  • They ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your charter’s start time.
